How Do We Fix Work?
Jobs, Gender, and Power
Post #MeToo
April 9th
7:00 to 9:00 pm
Luce Hall Auditorium
How Do We Fix Work? begins with the fact that the workplace and employment are socially constructed. That means we can change them. For a very long time, women have lacked full power in the workplace. Women have been advised about how to behave for success in a male structure (dress tips, “lean in,”) or why they are not good enough to be promoted (childcare, emotions, “not ready”) or deserving of equal pay. This symposium challenges these structures and messages. We are committed to conversations that are intersectional and don’t presume that gender is colorless or binary. All are welcome!
