WFF is proud to award Dr. Carolyn M. Mazure with the 2024 Elga R. Wasserman Courage, Clarity, and Leadership Award. This award is named after Elga Ruth Wasserman, whose trailblazing career in the university administration and academics as well as extraordinary advocacy on behalf of Yale women in the early years of coeducation continues to inspire future champions of gender equity and diversity in higher education. Dr. Carolyn M. Mazure is the Norma Weinberg Spungen and Joan Lebson Bildner Professor in Women’s Health Research, and Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at Yale School of Medicine. A past Associate Dean for Faculty at Yale School of Medicine and founder of Women’s Health Research at Yale (WHRY), she has provided mentorship and sponsorship to countless women throughout her Yale career. She has pushed boundaries and provided a leading voice in science, education, and academia. She currently serves the Biden Administration in Washington D.C. as the Chair of the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research.
