Alumni Survey Report: “Staying Power”

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

The WFF is excited to release a copy of our Alumni Survey Report: “Staying Power.” A novel approach to looking at the long-term impact of campus climate, the report seeks to identify various aspects of the student social and academic experience that have “staying power.” At their 20th reunion, we asked alumni to reflect upon whether a negative campus climate has lasting consequences and if so, what are the impacts of that negative experience following graduation. We hope their insights will shed light on our current efforts and enable us to find creative and impactful ways to create the most positive climate possible for all of our students.

Through the retrospective lens, this report makes clear the areas where Yale has made progress as institution and invested wisely to new supports for students since the 1990s. Despite these steps forward, we see areas where the issues still resonate. We hope that this report can be a jumping off point for discussions around inclusion, belonging, and values we hold as the Yale community.
