Annual Reception

The Women Faculty Forum hosts an annual Fall Opening Reception. Each year, we honor the winner of the Wasserman Award.

September 16th, 2025 Women Faculty Forum and the greater Yale community gathered at our Annual Reception to welcome the new semester and celebrate our own, Judith Resnik, JD. With greetings from Nina Stachenfeld, Chair of WFF and Sandy Cayo, WFF Director of Faculty Initiatives, the program continued with engaging remarks from Vice Provost Nilakshi Parndigamage, and a video message from Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro identifying Judith Resnik’s inspiring accomplishments and commitments. Joined by President Maurie McInnis and with heartfelt introductions from WFF Steering & Council members Abbe Gluck and Priya Natarajan, the Wasserman Award was presented with deep appreciation and gratitude.

September 19th, 2024 Women Faculty Forum celebrated at our Annual Reception, with more than 125 attendees in the Humanities Quadrangle. Nina Stachenfeld, WFF Chair welcomed the group, with remarks offered by President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel. This year’s Elga Wasserman Award recipient, Carolyn M. Mazure, PhD, was introduced by two special colleagues, Drs. Margaret Bia and Samit Shah. Rounding out the evening was a wonderful performance by Yale’s own, Whim ‘N Rhythm. Friends and colleagues, old and new, enjoyed connecting while renewing our commitment to equity across our campus. A few photos, recapping the evening.

In 2023, our event took place on October 3rd, in the President’s Room in Schwarzman Center, where faculty and staff from across the university gathered to renew our commitment to gender equity on campus.

Guests were welcomed by WFF chair, Nina Stachenfeld, PhD, with remarks offered by President Salovey and Provost Strobel. The evening also honored Professor Sybil Alexandrov, winner of the 2023 Wasserman Award.
