The WFF is commissioning a portrait honoring the first seven women to earn PhDs at Yale and commemorating the opening of the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to women in 1892. The portrait will be hung prominently in the nave of Sterling Memorial Library. Either traditional or contemporary interpretations are welcome in the visual arts of painting, photography or assemblage. Information on the project and submission can be found at http://wff.yale.edu/programs-events/portrait-commission. Submission of sample work and a short bio are due January 13th, 2014. Please consider notifying potentially interested artists.
