Child Care at Yale & Family Life

Back-Up Child and Adult/Elder Care: Current Yale faculty, staff, and postdoctoral associates are eligible for subsidized backup child care or adult/elder care. Bright Horizons Care Advantage offers a variety of services for when you are recovering from an illness, have urgent or planned back-up child care needs, adult and elder care needs, or from when your child’s school is closed. Pet care and homework help are also some of the services provided by Bright Horizons Care Advantage. For more information, call the WorkLife Program at 432-8069.

Bright Care Horizons at West Campus: This service welcomes families at Yale and all families in the community. They offer full time and part time care as well as drop-in programs for children ages six weeks to 12 years old.
 
Calvin Hill Day Care: this private preschool provides care and education for children ages from 2-years-and-9-months to 6 years. It offers three specified programs: threes, preschool, and all-day kindergarten.
 
Edith B. Jackson Childcare Program: this Yale-affilliated preschool is a NAEYC-accredited program that offers year-round education and care for children ages 3 months to 5 years. It offers four specified programs: a Ones Groups, a Twos Group, Preschool i, and Preschool II.
 
Phyllis Bodel Childcare Center: The Childcare Center is affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine and is open to all children in the community. First priority is given to parents who are faculty, students, or postdoctoral fellows at Yale School of Medicine.  The Center currently serves children ranging in age from six weeks to Kindergarten, full or part time. The Center is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm all year except for holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
 
Yale Law School Early Learning Center: The YLS Early Learning Center is a small daycare center serving the Yale Law School community and Yale University. The Center has space for nine children; one or two half-day spaces (morning or afternoon) are available. Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and any remaining openings are made available to other members of the Yale community. The Center cares for children from ages 3 months to their third birthday.
 
The Nest at Alphabet Academy: the third of three Alphabet Academy locations. Located at the Yale Divinity School, this learning center offers care to children under the age of 3.
